TfL unveils new walking map

A new map just released by Transport for London aims to educate us on just how quick walking could be as an alternative to an unpleasant tube journey. It demonstrates just how small London actually is.

There are plenty of reasons to love London. Commuting, however, is certainly not one of them. TfL’s new map means you can now figure out if it really is worth tubing it from stop to stop, when getting from Embankment to Covent Garden is actually a mere ten minute stroll.

A spokesperson for TfL explained to The Telegraph: “What we have seen is that people are desperate for this sort of thing, so we have created it. We focused on central London, zones 1 and 2, and based the times off our journey planner.

“It’s often quite a difficult message for us because people think we just do the Tube and buses, but we’re also responsible for roads, walking and cycling. We’re investing heavily in improving walking and cycling routes across London, with all the health benefits they bring. This is going to be great for people to see how quick and easy it is to so many stations.”
