The Pavilions of Harrogate and the Yorkshire Event Centre, have been merged to become the Great Yorkshire Events Centre. The brand revamp introduces a new chapter to these leading Yorkshire venues…
The venues which now combine under one brand, are both based on the Great Yorkshire Showground which has 340 acres of green space โThe Groundsโ – ideal for outdoor events. Thereโs also parking for over 2,000 cars.
The venues โ which have individually become known as The Halls and The Pavilions – are owned by registered charity the Yorkshire Agricultural Society which has also been rebranded to create more synergy between all of the businesses.
The refresh is a nod to the tradition and heritage of the Society, while giving a contemporary feel and stronger connection between all parts of the commercial businesses, its flagship event the Great Yorkshire Show and the charity.
As part of the rebrand, a new film showcasing the work of the businesses and the charity has been created and a new website has been launched.
Allister Nixon, Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society said: โThe rebrand will link the businesses and the charity closer together, so that clients know that when they book with us, they can fulfil their corporate responsibility and are contributing to a greater good as all profits from our events funds the work of the Society.โ
Richard Moorhouse, Events Director added: โBringing the event brands together allows us to market the Great Yorkshire Events Centre as one destination that can cover all events for up to 50,000 people whether thatโs an exhibition or a conference, meetings to dinners, awards to product launches, wedding and remembrances.โ
The Society is proud to have been named by Best Companies as among the Best Mid-Sized Companies To Work For 2024 in the UK and is listed in the Top 30 Best Companies To Work For In The UK Charity Sector 2024.
Last year was also a huge success, with the delivery of all scales of events, including: North of England Woodworking Show and The Great Caravan, Motorhome & Holiday Home Show.
Sustainability is at the core of Great Yorkshire Event Centre
Looking forward to 2025, there are plans to build on the Showgroundโs commitment to ESG (environmental, social & governance).
The work, which is part of a sustainable long-term vision for the Showground, will measure its current biodiversity and carbon capture capacity, as well as its potential to enhance these further.
This is one of the Societyโs core objectives – to advance and encourage the protection and sustainability of the environment.
Another key objective is to hold an event which promotes food, farming and the countryside โ and this is fulfilled by holding the Great Yorkshire Show which attracts 140,000 visitors.
Throughout the year, the registered charity also supports the farming community by providing skills, mental health and safety training to farmers, grants, free teacher training days and free events for children to learn about agriculture and where their food comes from.
The Society also supports the farming community through its onsite shop and cafรฉ Fodder which stocks produce from over 430 local producers and suppliers. There are plans to support even more producers when the building undergoes a major refurbishment this month which will be unveiled in March.
The new look Fodder will really put farmers and producers front and centre, offering tasting tables to allow customers to try before they buy and create a more contemporary feel around the shop and cafรฉ.
