All events booked at the Great Yorkshire Showground fund the work of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity helping to develop an environment where farming, food and the countryside thrive and grow.
Founded in 1837, the Society is best known for organising the Great Yorkshire Show but lesser known for the work it does throughout the rest of the year.
How does your event support agriculture?
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society invests over half a million pounds a year supporting and promoting agriculture in a wide variety of ways. These include organising educational events for children and families, sponsorship of events and conferences, awarding grants, promoting careers in agriculture and supporting those working in the industry through health checks, networking events and being a source of help where needed.
The Yorkshire Event Centre along with Pavilions of Harrogate, Fodder and Harrogate Caravan Park form the commercial arm of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. This means that whether you are holidaying at Harrogate Caravan Park, having lunch at Fodder or booking your event at the Yorkshire Event Centre or Pavilions of Harrogate, you are contributing to funding the charitable objectives of the Society.
Alongside funding the work of the Society, both the Yorkshire Event Centre and Pavilions of Harrogate regularly host events that align with our charitable objectives including gala dinners for several regional and national charities. In 2024 the Yorkshire Event Centre was transformed for a number of national gala dinners meanwhile Pavilions of Harrogate has hosted several charity events seating 350 diners.
With the capacity to host up to 2,000 people at the Yorkshire Event Centre, our 6,270m2 pillar-free spaces are a blank canvas for you to be creative and achieve your brand objectives. The Halls have direct access to the Great Yorkshire Showground which event bookers can avail of when outdoor space is required.
Locally produced catering by award-winning Yorkshire chefs
Tantalising menus are crafted by award-winning Yorkshire chefs ranging from afternoon teas, to buffets and 3-course gala dinners. The finest Yorkshire produce is transformed into mouthwatering dishes for up to 2,000 attendees.
Meanwhile the prime location of both venues means they are easily accessible for visitors. With capacity to park up to 2,500 cars on hardstanding alongside additional parking on grass, several EV charging points and Harrogate train station a few miles away, the Great Yorkshire Showground is a central location to connect visitors from north, south, east and west.
Finding a venue for your next charity event can feel daunting but the first-class facilities on the Great Yorkshire Showground coupled with an award-winning team will ensure that your event is a resounding success.
The Yorkshire Event Centre and Pavilions of Harrogate are award-winning venues that have been hosting events including gala dinners many years. Our wealth of experience and extensive knowledge ensures every event that takes place on the Great Yorkshire Showground is a success. Both venues are owned by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS) and all profits go back to YAS, a registered charity helping to support and develop an environment where farming, food and the countryside thrives and grows.
