Yorkshire PAs celebrated at awards

The PA Hub, a Yorkshire-based membership network for PAs across the region, recently held its first-ever PA of the Year awards dinner last week at the Pavilion, home of Leeds United.

More than 250 guests, including legendary football players and Emmerdale cast members, gathered for the inaugural black-tie dinner, which recognised top management assistants across 11 award categories.

The first winner of the Yorkshire PA of the Year Award is Sarah Caswell of Clarion. Meanwhile, Lupton Fawcett Denison Till?s Cathy Newboult took home the Lifetime Achievement Award.

A group of colleagues from Leeds Beckett University took the spotlight for the evening, winning four trophies between them, including Best Team of PAs. Sarah Hough won Yorkshire PA Newcomer, while Linda Hepworth took home the award for PA Contribution to the Community. The university, meanwhile, was named Employer of the Year.

The judging panel for the awards was made up of four highly experienced and well-known professionals in the field ? Victoria Darragh of Hays Specialist Recruitment, Katie McEwan of Ann Summers, Jamila Juma-Ware of Pitman Training and Christopher Juliff, Private Secretary to Earl Howe from the House of Lords.

Founder of the PA Hub Marion Lowrence says: ?The awards are a fantastic way to recognise assistants for the amazing job they do and the support they provide to their companies every day. Winning an award will give them the confidence and self-assurance they need to excel further in their role as well as allow them to stand up and be in the spotlight.?
