Experience Oxfordshire announces The Oxford Collection as Ambassador Partner

Experience Oxfordshire The Oxford Collection

Experience Oxfordshire, the county’s Destination Management Organisation (DMO), is delighted to announce the independently owned hospitality group, The Oxford Collection, as its latest Ambassador Partner for the organisation.

The Oxford Collection is owned by hospitality legend, Jeremy Mogford, and comprises two 5-star-plus luxury hotels and three stunning restaurants. All located in central Oxford, The Oxford Collection establishments are renowned for the care and innovation which has been employed to place them within heritage settings.  Gees Restaurant & Bar was once a Victorian garden centre and under development are luxury long-stay apartments in St Giles and a spa in a former barn at the Old Bank Hotel.

Hayley Beer-Gamage, Experience Oxfordshire CEO commented: “For over forty years Jeremy Mogford has invested in Oxfordshire and supported the development of our visitor economy. The Oxford Collection with its underlying values of warm hospitality, excellence in service, respect for heritage matched with a sharp eye on the future, embodies all that is good about our county. We are delighted to welcome The Oxford Collection to join us as an Ambassador Partner and we look forward to working on exciting and productive initiatives together.”

Experience Oxfordshire is a partnership organisation working with local businesses to grow the value of the visitor economy in Oxfordshire, for the benefit of everyone and was recently awarded Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) status by VisitEngland. Ambassador Partners are leading businesses from a variety of sectors across the Oxfordshire economy and they play an active part in ensuring the sustainability of the organisation. Collectively they bring valuable insight, support and strategic direction to the work Experience Oxfordshire does as the DMO for the county.

Jeremy Mogford, owner of the Oxford Collection said: “We are fortunate to live and work in a wonderful city and county, offering great opportunities, but as a sector hospitality also faces its fair share of challenges. We have previously expressed our faith in Experience Oxfordshire in representing and speaking up for the county’s visitor economy and we’re delighted to offer our ongoing support now, as an Experience Oxfordshire Ambassador. We look forward to collaborating with partners across the sector on new opportunities and we look forward to working with the Experience Oxfordshire team and are proud to have an accredited LVEP working hard on behalf of Oxfordshire’s visitor economy.”

Who else is part of the Oxford Experience Oxford Collection?

The Oxford Collection joins Bicester Village, Blenheim Palace, GWR, Hedges Law, Oxford Bus Company, Oxford United Football Club, Pye Homes, Stagecoach, Westgate Oxford, JACKfm, the Evergreen Agency, Cherwell District Council and Oxfordshire County Council as Ambassadors for Experience Oxfordshire and the county’s visitor economy.

Developed and administered by VisitEngland, the national portfolio of strategic and high-performing LVEPs support collaborative working locally and nationally on shared priorities and targets to grow the local visitor economy. The creation of LVEPs was part of the UK Government’s response to the recommendations of ‘The de Bois Review: an independent review of DMOs in England,’ to reshape destination management across England, reducing fragmentation and bringing coherence to its DMO landscape.
