Sheffieldโs premier conference and events venue, the Mosborough Hall Hotel, has launched a brand new mocktail menu this week, in response to a massive upturn in demand for low or no alcohol drinks at its corporate events.
The Hotel has developed the more enticing, imaginative non-alcohol drinks menu as part of a range of options being added to its corporate events packages โ as boozy get togethers fall down the agenda in favour of activities that promote wellness and connection between corporate teams.
PAs and Executive Assistants organising employee reward and recognition events or team building days can now enjoy a host of summery with refreshing infusions such as non-alcoholic espresso martinis. You’ll find Mojito-No-No, the Rhubarb and Ginger garnished with raspberries, an alcohol-free take on the Aperol Spritz and a range of delicious non-alcoholic sparkling wine-based cocktails on the menu.
โMany companies are rethinking the corporate drinking culture that was been ingrained into workplace events for many years,โ says Richard Beck, general manager, Mosborough Hall Hotel.
โIโve seen research to say that as many as 43% of adults feel too much pressure to drink alcohol when socialising with work colleagues and over half of people would like there to be less pressure to drink at work events. More than one in three workers see drinking with colleagues as outdated.
Sober corporate events are replacing drinking with colleagues
โItโs a trend weโre noticing here and for a range of reasons. Ethical, health and religious factors are at play, but I think a real driver is that the younger generations coming through into the workplace donโt have the same attitude towards alcohol that weโve seen in the past. They donโt feel the need to drink at every event and itโs right that this should be accepted and encouraged.
โFor workers who are sober, the expectation to drink can be off-putting and at worst, exclusionary. So, we want to embrace the change that weโre seeing and offer alternative ideas for bringing people together at corporate events.โ
Activities on offer at Mosborough Hall
As well as the new mocktail menu, Mosborough Hall Hotel also has a range of exhilarating activities available for corporate clients that include windsurfing, canoeing, sailing, archery, power boating and land and water “Zorbing”.
Its proximity to the Peak District means it is a gateway to the great outdoors and guests travel for miles to enjoy cycling, hiking and time in nature in this area of exceptional natural beauty. Those who want a more relaxed, less physically intensive event, can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in the relaxing surroundings of Darcyโs Bar, complemented of course with mocktails from the new menu.
The focus is on bringing teams together in a way that is good for their health and wellbeing, summarises Richard. โWeโre encouraging meaningful connections that go beyond a drunken night, hazy memories, and hangovers. We want people to try new things, spend time in the great outdoors and of course enjoy good food and drink during their stay with us.โ
