Venue of the Week: The Orange

Although it can easily be mistaken for your everyday London gastropub, The Orange has an authentic Belgravian charm that not only sets it apart from its competition as a casual after-work destination but also as an event and meeting venue.

Sat on Pimlico Road, a short walking distance from both Sloane Square and Victoria stations, The Orange is another Cubitt House venue in the same vein as the Alfred Tennyson, as such it offers the same levels of service and the same high quality of food and drink. The Orange is an old and delicately restored building that gives you the feeling of walking into a centuries old home that feels quintessentially London.

Offering food including wood-fired dishes, classic British meals and breakfasts, the team are currently launching their Christmas menu. Being shown the venue, I was surprised at the amount of space available for meetings and private functions, with smaller nooks as well as larger spaces accommodating for anything from an intimate 12 seated event to a 120 person occasion, as well even having a garden bar.

For those looking to stay, The Orange also features four elegant bedrooms to give clients a quiet city retreat. Many of their events are also partnered with independent gin producer Sipsmith, a rising star in the gin industry with a strong emphasis on British values. While we were able to take part in an evening of gin tasting, the venue also takes part in other events, including their upcoming Feast of the Beast banquet this November.

The Verdict
The keyword for this venue is โ€˜homely,โ€™ a rarity to find in a place as bustling and intimidating as central London, yet everyone from the staff to the punters gave off a familiar and warm vibe thatโ€™s ideal for PAs looking for a city spot to entertain a small group, host a larger event or just nip in for an after-work gin.
