A new experience at the New Place Hotel

The traditional grand front of the New Place Hotel

As you already know, I am no stranger to the South Coast. So when the chance to spend an evening with a few other fabulous PAs at theย New Place Hotel in Hampshire, I jumped at the opportunity.

Inside the conference room

On Friday the group of PAs and myself headed down to the beautiful county of Hampshire. We were hosted by the New Place Hotel, Shirrell Heath. The beautiful historic mansion is in the perfect grounds for anyone who loves the traditional British countryside.

The history of New Place Hotel dates back to 1623ย  Bristol, where Langton Mansion was built. 100 years later, the Mansion was sold to a budding entrepreneur John Davies, who converted it into a tobacco factory. After many historically rich years, the Mansion that was now owned by Mrs Annie Franklyn was demolished. In 1906 she decided to commission Sir Edwin Lutyens to build New Place. From that point onwards the house kept it’s name in the history books with many other historical events that took place. Find out more about the incredible history of this historic building by visiting the New Place Hotelย website.

After quickly exploring the facilities, I headed straight to the pool (It was a hot day and there is no better way to relax). The clean and clear pool was ever so relaxing for a hot day, the water was slightly cool, which I was reassured was due to the weather being so hot outside. After a quick swim, I relaxed some more by getting into the hot tub, It was the relaxing start I needed to a weekend.

After my swim, I felt rather peckish, which was lucky as it was dinner time. We were escorted to our own private dining room, Perfect for anyone looking to have a meeting or dine without the crowds. The three-course meal was divine and all of us PAs were on top form chatting and having fun.

Post swimming and eating, I will admit, I felt quite tired. My room was newly-refurbished, comfortable, clean, spacious and most importantly it was quiet. I slept like a dream, the only struggle I found was getting up in the morning.

Bow and Arrow at the New Place Hotel

The morning was started with a spot of team-building by a company called team building solutions. The activities included were archery, laser clay pigeon shooting and puzzle games. I must admit I was nervous when it can to the laser clay pigeon shooting but was the initial nerves had gone, I felt like a regular for the British shooting team, in fact, my accuracy I was more a Del Boy than I hoped. The best thing about the team building was the location. Every timeย you would take a moment to look up, you couldn’t help but be completely in awe of the surroundings. It was like being a character from a Jane Austin novel but the reality was even more Spectacular.

It was a very fun weekend that lead me to having a great adventure with several other PAs.

I can’t wait for the next one.
