A new, state of the art conference and events venue is set to launch in Birmingham in spring 2020.
The new centre, which will feature an on-site hotel, is being built as part of the βEastsideβ development of the city, alongside HS2, and will form part of the βknowledge quarterβ being created around the historic area.
With its location just 10 minutesβ walk from Birmingham City Centre, adjacent to HS2, and on the side of the cityβs beautiful canal network, the venueβs owners are calling it βthe most connected conference centre in the UKβ.
At its heart will also be the cityβs largest pillar free banqueting space, capable of seating 1,200 delegates, surrounded by over 800 sqm of plenary, breakout, meetings, and events space.
βThe eastside rooms is a really exciting new development for the industry and is arriving at just the right time, in a dynamic city with a heritage of fantastic venues and interesting meeting spaces,β said Matt Huddart, Regional General Manager, the eastside rooms. βThis part of Birmingham has an amazing heritage that will be woven into the design of the hotel, but it also has a great future, and will becoming the cityβs knowledge and information district, with businesses and innovation centres being built around it.
βWeβve worked really closely with event organisers from the very outset of this project to make sure weβre creating the right spaces with the right infrastructure for a modern event. Over the next few months weβll be inviting more #eventproffs into the space so we can continue to listen to what they are after and give them the space they need.β
The eastside rooms will open in spring 2020, however the space itself will be presented to meetings and events planners in the autumn this year.
