The Kia Oval set to stage another first

Official hospitality provider Keith Prowse will add the spectacular new Corinthian Roof Terrace.

The ?250,000 development, undertaken by Oval Events Ltd, will create a new space that will take entertaining and hospitality to new heights on top of the ground?s OCS Stand.

With the capital?s cityscape as its backdrop and unrivalled views of action on the pitch, the Corinthian Roof Terrace has been designed to appeal as the season?s go-to destination. Grazing menus, a DJ booth for post- match parties, stylised seating areas and world-class service levels will set a new benchmark for hospitality clients and represent another first for the Kia Oval.

Taking its name from the popular phrase ?Corinthian Spirit? – meaning sportsmanship – the Corinthian Roof Terrace will embody the ground?s heritage of fair play and its place as host to English sport?s most revered occasions; the first rugby international in England and the inaugural FA Cup final between Wanderers and Morton Betts were both played at the venue in 1872. The Kia Oval is also synonymous with The Ashes ? cricket?s most coveted prize After England lost to Australia in 1882, the bails from the match were burned and stored in an urn, which then became the fabled trophy still played for by both sides today.

2013 is sure to bring more firsts to the ground as its hosts the final Investec Ashes Test Match against Australia as well as a blend of One Day International cricket and super-paced T20 matches.
