PA Life readers take a tour of Trinity House

A group of lucky PA Life readers were recently treated to an exclusive opportunity to visit historic Trinity House on a private tour of its maritime treasures. Expert guide Geoff Boyd showed them round the venueโ€™s five rooms, which contain royal portraits and artefacts that are part of the rich legacy of Britainโ€™s maritime past. They were also given the chance to network over afternoon tea.

Caroline Dโ€™Souza, an assistant visiting from the National Gallery, commented: โ€œThis lavish building full of historical memorabilia is a hidden gem for social and corporate events.โ€

Meanwhile Joy Hannon, PA to several directors at Ofcom, observed that it was โ€œa wonderful tour of Trinity House. I absolutely loved it. It was a real privilege to be inside such a great building, especially accompanied by such an interesting and knowledgeable tour guide.โ€

Jane Parsons, PA to the CEO of the British Property Federation, summed up her thoughts of the house as a โ€œbeautiful venue, with an incredible โ€˜back storyโ€™ and a real wow factor when it comes to location, especially for history buffs.โ€

Young King Henry VIII granted a Royal Charter to a fraternity of mariners called the Guild of the Holy Trinity โ€œso that they might regulate the pilotage of ships in the Kingโ€™s streamsโ€ in 1514 and May marks the 500th anniversary of this milestone event in British maritime history.

Included in the celebrations at Trinity House is a unique Open Day Invitation to the general public to discover artefacts on display from 10am-3pm on Saturday 17 May. There is no need to contact the venue โ€“ interested visitors can come at their leisure and receive information from expert guides stationed throughout the property.

Located on Tower Hill, the venue features views across Trinity Gardens to the historic Tower of London. Easily accessed by car or the underground, it is a convenient setting for corporate events. Behind the buildingโ€™s imposing neo-classical faรงade, which was designed by Samuel Wyatt in 1794, are five banqueting and conference rooms that can cater for events ranging in capacity from 10 to 130 delegates seated.
