The Old Course Hotel unveils its first penthouse – the pinnacle in luxury for the home of golf.

The five-star Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews has launched a new penthouse suite, marking the completion of a series of multi-million-pound renovations that took place this year. Firmly cementing the hotel’s position as one of the finest golfing destinations in the world, The Penthouse offers panoramic views across the Scottish coastline and the world-famous Old Course, making it the ultimate getaway for golf lovers, or those looking to celebrate their special occasion.

Set on the fourth floor, The Penthouse is a private haven within the this luxury golf hotel, accessible only by its own lift and stairwell. It features a long balcony overlooking the Old Course, complete with a fire pit and outside seating, as well as a telescope for those looking to get a better look at the Old Course, or the starlit sky over the North Sea in the evening. The dining area accommodates up to eight guests with the possibility of interconnecting to a third-floor Eden Suite. Groups of families and friends can easily design their perfect set up. The interior balances contemporary details with traditional décor such as parquet flooring and oak panelled walls. Floor to ceiling windows in the living area look over the 17th hole of the Old Course, meanwhile bedrooms feature plush velvet furnishings, a central fireplace and a free-standing bath set in the window.

The Penthouse is just one part of a series of renovations which saw the addition of 31 new rooms – taking the total to 175 – as well as the expansion of the hotel’s largest events spaces, The Conservatory (up to 190 guests) and The Hall of Champions (between 230 to 450 seats). This, coupled with the hotel’s existing award-winning spa and collection of five dining experiences, including the 3 AA Rosette-awarded Road Hole Restaurant, make it the perfect destination for special occasions. What’s more, a new 80-cover restaurant and bar is now open and a great drawcard for guests and the local community of St Andrews.

Not just for golfers – it’s perfect venue for your special day too

For those looking to book the hotel for their wedding, the hotel offers a range of bridal packages to suit all budgets and for large or smaller parties. These include The Always Package from £125pp, The Forever Package from £165pp and the elite, The Eternity Package, for £375pp for opulence and high-end luxury. Both The Forever and The Eternity Packages feature a complimentary four ball, nine-hole round of golf on The Duke’s Course the day before or the morning of the wedding.
