From the desk of Penelope Alice, Britain’s most fabulous PA: Go Native Christmas party

What is it like to live the high life? I had the opportunity to get a taste of it at the Go Native serviced apartments Christmas party at the company’s luxurious Mayfair property.

The event took place at the building’s penthouse suite, (pictured) a two-bedroom flat that dwarfs my own tiny accommodation. Each room has an en suite bathroom, one of which is only about the size of the Taj Mahal. The reception is big enough to fit a massive couch and a six-piece dining set. Don’t even get me started on the kitchen, which sparked feelings of jealousy in me even though I’m a terrible cook.

As well as some great company, we were treated to free-flowing fizz and yummy canapés courtesy of Truc Vert, a French-style deli near the property. I was partial to the goat’s cheese and Mediterranean vegetable bites and miniature fish cakes, but the sausages drizzled in maple syrup really got me in the Christmas mood.
