PA accused of stealing £25K from Viscount Petersham

Office manager embezzles money from former employer

The former PA to Viscount Petersham is set to stand trial accused of stealing £25,000 from her boss’s company.

Naomi Tamzin Barrett was employed as the personal assistant to Viscount William Stanhope and his wife Candida Bond, a former fashion model who was once the face of Chanel. She is alleged to have used a company credit card provided by Stanhope’s firm CMG Events to go on a £25,000 shopping spree across the North East.

Barrett denied the offence at Peterhead Sheriff Court this week. She is accused of using the card at Aberdeenshire Fireplaces in Mintlaw, Bliss Florist in Turriff, Meadlowland Gallery and the Eastside Discount Centre in Banff, as well as at Aberdeen International Airport.

She is also alleged to have embezzled money across the UK. All of the offences took place between January 2015 and April 2016.

Barrett will stand trial early next year. She has previously been brought up on charges of theft in Exeter when she admitted stealing £1500 from the Axe Valley Hunt Supporters’ Club, where she acted as treasurer.
