PA Life Club had a pleasure of travelling up to Cambridge with 10 club members on 17th November for an overnight stay at The Fellows House. The Hilton Curio Collection hotel is more of a luxury home from home offering very comfortable and superbly equipped one bedroom and studio apartments as well as a gym and a small pool too.
The Meet Up was very popular with our members, just as we anticipated, and unfortunately, we had to leave a few eager members on the waiting list in a hope to be able to arrange another visit in the future.
A great bar and dinner …a perfect star for our stay at The Fellows House
We arrived in the late afternoon, perfect timing for us all to check in and have pre-dinner cocktails whilst catching up and relaxing in The Folio Bar where expert mixologists are dedicated to creating the perfect tipple taking inspiration from the scientific pioneers and the past and present Fellows of The University of Cambridge.
Dinner in the Folio Kitchen was fantastic home-cooked British classics. The restaurant is a keen support of healthy eating with an inspiring twist, and serves plenty of tasty vegan dishes too. Local produce is used as much as possible adding to guilt free enjoyment by guests.
After dinner we had a chance to just relax and socialise in the beautiful bar and also in The Observatory which in the corner of the Fellows Garden. It’s a part-indoor-part-outdoor snug for relaxing, mingling, or the time-honoured practice of observing. Featuring a large open fire and patio heating, it’s a cosy space filled with fresh air.
We were all eager to retreat to our lovely bedrooms and looking froward to making that Nespresso in the morning. The kitchens in the rooms were really well equipped, perfect for longer stays.
Breakfast was healthy and tasty as we expected with fantastic coffee too. Sadly, our mini break had come to near end and all that was left to do was to tour the hotel, see the different room set ups and their state-of-the-art conferencing and meeting facilities.
