A bubbly affair: Searcys launches first Bubbly Show in London

It’s time to pop the corks as British restaurateur and events caterer Searcys launches its first-ever Bubbly Show in London, a two-day celebration of all things fizz this June. The show will take place in the stunning surrounds of the historic {10-11} Carlton House Terrace, located just off Pall Mall, making its debut from Friday 23rd to Saturday 24th June.

Visitors will be able to meet a range of exhibitors from Champagne houses and English sparkling wine producers, complete with tastings, talks, masterclasses and even a lesson in sabrage. Tickets start from just £49 per person, including eight samples of champagne and English sparkling wines and access to the talks.

Curated in partnership with Honest Grapes wine club, the two-day show will stretch across the stunning Grade I listed venue, featuring bottles from champagne heavyweights including Taittinger, Pommery and Moët & Chandon, along with English sparkling wine producers including Greyfriars and Gusbourne.

The Battle of Bubbles: England vs France

Fizz aficionados will sip their way through an enfilade of rooms, sampling bubbles from small growers and Grandes Marques with a selection of nibbles to pair and learning about the art of Champagne with guided talks throughout the show. Led by industry experts, themes will include a blind tasting The Battle of Bubbles: England vs France with The Spectator’s wine writer Jonathan Ray, while Searcys Head of Champagne, Martin Dibben, will teach a lesson in the art of sabrage – a ceremonial technique of opening a champagne bottle with a sabre – which is only seen in approved hotels and restaurants.

Foodies will be catered for

For foodies, there will be an interactive champagne masterclass and dinner experience (£120pp), wherein guests will sample their way through three vintages in a guided tasting, perfectly matched to a three-course menu of seasonal, British dishes. For a quintessentially British pastime, on Saturday, guests can opt for the Afternoon Tea experience (£79pp), served with Searcys Selected Cuvée and featuring a selection of mouth-watering savouries and elegant patisserie, along with Searcys’ patisserie signatures.
