Our Editor paid a visit to the buzzing London neighbourhood at Battersea Power Station to dine at TOZI Pizzeria & Cicchetti Bar. Tozi means โa close-knit group of friendsโ in Venetian slang, a great name for this vibrant restaurant serving the most amazing cicchetti โ plates of delicious dishes meant for sharing…
TOZI is located on the ground floor of art’otel, a perfect partnership. Where else do you get to enjoy amazing food and drink surrounded by contemporary art adorning the entire restaurant, and right underneath the imposing power station. Whether you take a seat indoors or on the new stunning piazza that’s been transformed into an Italian oasis channelling vibes of Amalfi Coast, you’ll be in for a treat.
We were greeted with the warmest of welcomes by Roberto, their Sicilian restaurant manager and his fantastic team. Before talking food choices, we decided to give their Malfy Gin cocktails a try. I loved the special summer drinks menu of just three spritzy drinks, all topped up with soda water for thirst-quenching long gin cocktails to sip. There is a longer drinks list too should you want more choice.
Asking what the staff love most from the a la carte cicchetti menu turned out to be the right choice. Or maybe all the dishes are equally amazing. We absolutely loved what they recommended, stating with crispy Calamari Fritti, Aubergine Parmigiana and Sicilian Prawns to share. And for larger plates, as mains, we shared a divine Lobster Linguine and the perfectly crispy Veal Milanese. There was still room to add one of the highly recommended TOZIโs pizzas – we weren’t being greedy, there were three of us after all. The fennel sausage & the spicy โNduja pizza was a great choice – served as if it’s come straight from an oven in Sicily.
Private hire options at TOZI Battersea
TOZI makes a great sport for working breakfasts at the TOZI Counter adjacent to the restaurant.ย The Italian inspired deli severs freshly made pastries, slices of pizzas, sandwiches and coffees. And if you are working in the area or attending meetings, then TOZI offers a great option for lunches and dinners, including private hire of all their three spaces. The all day menu of elegant Italian dishes and drinks is perfect for both intimate and larger private events.
TOZI Pizzeria & Cicchetti Bar we can accommodate groups of up to 80 people for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We can also accommodate up to 12 guests in private dining rooms on the 1st floor that overlook the gallery.
For smaller more intimate affairs from drinks receptions, product launches, workshops or small events, TOZI Counter is the perfect spot. The Counter is a light and bright space, which can become cosy and intimate for an event. Capacity to seat 20 people and host 55 for a standing reception.
TOZI Piazza can also be reserved for functions and celebrations. Enquire with the team about capacity and availability.
Live music Thursday & weekend brunches
TOZI Battersea Power Station has live music on selected Thursday evenings with performances from the likes of Alexys Guitar. Expect smooth, chilled acoustic tunes blending well-known songs with a unique Latin twist, perfect to dance the night away.
On the weekend, I shall be back for brunch. From noon to 4pm TOZI will be serving freshly baked brunch pizzettas inspired by classic breakfast dishes with varieties like Eggs alla Benedict, Eggs alla Royale, and Pepperonata Fried Egg and Avocado e Pomodoro. Can’t wait!
