Candle by Events ignites your team spirit

It’s not very often you get the chance to experience what it’s like to be on Dragons’ Den, but Candle by Events has created a unique team-building workshop based around the hit reality TV show. The activity is sure to get the creative juices flowing among your colleagues and get everybody thinking in business terms.

The workshop is the team-building provider’s flagship event. Teams are shown several candle-making techniques before they’re split into groups and set the challenge of manufacturing a new range of candles and creating a successful brand.

Working in their groups, colleagues design and make their own candles and packaging. They choose the raw materials, calculate manufacturing costs and profit margins, then produce a pitch to promote their product to the other groups and a leadership team, who act as the infamous Dragons. Prizes are awarded for originality, innovation and profitability and teams get to keep their creations as a memento of the event.

The activity simulates an end-to-end business process and relies on teamwork to ensure the best results. Colleagues will get the opportunity to develop and practise skills such as communicating effectively, setting priorities and working collaboratively, as well as innovation, leadership and presentation.
