De Vere Wotton House in Surrey, part of the Principal Hotel Company, has unveiled its £6 million renovation programme, which is part of a wider £50 million investment project in the De Vere country estate hotels portfolio.

Part of the new look De Vere brand, which is due to launch in spring/summer 2017, De Vere Wotton House will be one of around 20 country estate hotels and modern executive centres in the UK under the De Vere brand, each with a historic mansion at its heart and a proud British heritage.

The sympathetic renovation at the 17th-century Dorking estate has been designed to place the historic Wotton House mansion back at the very heart of the venue, where traditional values combine seamlessly with modern day luxury.

De Vere Wotton House, which is nestled in 12 acres of stunning listed gardens, has completed all of its bedroom renovations and has seen 16 new junior suites added to its inventory, all of which are located in the mansion house, bringing the total number of bedrooms to 127.

The hotel’s restaurant is also undergoing a full refurbishment, as well as the reception and public areas, and is due to be complete by the end of 2016, along with the hotel’s bar, which is also undergoing a refresh.

The transformation has also included a full restoration of Wotton’s principal event space, The Evelyn Suite (pictured above), which has been returned to grandeur with a fresh new look and sophisticated detailing inspired by the building’s rich architecture. A neutral palette has been incorporated into the suite to make the most of the natural daylight and picturesque views of the Grade II-listed gardens, making it the ideal location for both conferences and weddings.

The investment has seen the installation of high-speed outdoor wifi, meaning delegates can make the most of the venue’s impressive estate, which is ideal for corporate team building and drinks receptions. With its imposing temples and follies, unique sculptures and its stunning walled garden, De Vere Wotton House makes the great outdoors an extension of the hotel itself.

The ambitious refurbishment also includes a refresh of all event spaces at the venue, including The Wotton Suite and a sympathetic restoration of the spectacular Old Library with its magnificent original marble pillars, arched ceilings and huge feature fireplace.

Caroline Morrone, General Manager at Wotton House commented: “As a popular venue for the meetings, conferences and private events market, the renovation project has been planned and designed to appeal to all our customers and provide a contemporary standout venue in stunning surroundings, which pays homage to its history and heritage as a listed architectural building.”

De Vere Wotton House is nestled within the heart of the picturesque Surrey countryside just 10 minutes from Junction 9 of the M25 and its sweeping drive, historic character and flexible event spaces make it a popular venue within the South East for corporate meetings and social occasions.

De Vere Wotton House boasts 20 function rooms including The Evelyn Suite for up to 180 guests and The Wotton Suite for up to 200 guests.  The venue has state-of-the-art event technology onsite including free hi-speed wifi and a dedicated events team and brigade of chefs on hand to create bespoke meetings and event menus.

Delegates at De Vere Wotton House have access to the gym, indoor pool, sauna, steam room and tennis courts, as well as the immaculately kept gardens, which are a highlight of the hotel.
