Penelope Alice dines in style at The HAC

The HAC Autumn Fare Dinner

Iโ€™m a sucker for historic venues, so I knew I couldnโ€™t turn down the chance to experience private dining at The Honourable Artillery Company (The HAC) with my fellow PA Life Club members.

The HAC is a stunning Georgian house set tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the City near Moorgate station. Itโ€™s the epitome of a hidden gem, with a wide range of rooms โ€“ each of which features fantastic historic design โ€“ that can suit any kind of event, from drinks receptions to team-building days. Thereโ€™s even a charming five-acre lawn thatโ€™s perfect for summer parties.

On the night that we visited, the events team had gone all out to decorate the venue to showcase what it can do. I was a big fan of the whole package; I can see my bossโ€™s eyes lighting up at the idea of a Christmas party in the Prince Consort Rooms, which can hold an impressive 400 people for dinners when booked together.

We were treated to delicious autumn dishes prepared by the HACโ€™s caterer, Fare of London. The whole menu was to die for โ€“ Kidderton Ash goatโ€™s cheese and beetroot chutney to start, one of the tastiest Beef Wellingtonโ€™s Iโ€™ve ever had for mains and a yummy hazelnut chocolate torte with clementine sorbet for dessert. Even more impressive was the Picpoul de Pinet and Chateau Tour de Luchey wines chosen to compliment the experience.

The whole evening was top notch โ€“ a proper venue showcase if you ask me. The staff was so helpful and friendly, and everything looked beautiful. This one is definitely going to the top of my โ€œvenues to considerโ€ list.
