Penelope Alice heads out on her first FAM trip to Windsor

Windsor has always been on my bucket list of towns to visit in the UK, and I got the opportunity to explore the location with a group of three PAs last weekend.

Windsor features some stunning views and a huge variety of hotels that can cater to every need, from corporate away days, summer parties and spa days, and The Agendo Organisation andย Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) ensured we all got the chance to experience just that.

On Friday we arrived at Runnymede on Thames, which is just minutes from Londonโ€™s Heathrow Airport, where we checked into our rooms and had a tour around its rooms and conference and meeting spaces.

We also got to try out the on-site spa, which boasts swimming pools, a whirlpool bath, saunas, a steam room and an array of treatments. Later that evening my guests and I were also treated to a delicious dinner in the Leftbank.

Saturday proved to be another exciting day for us all. We enjoyed a leisurely cruise from Runnymede to Windsor with French Brothers Boats to soak up all the glorious views the Thames has to offer. Soon enough we arrived at our next pit-stop, the Harte & Garter Hotel. Here we got another show round of the hotelโ€™s grounds, as well as its period ballroom and six meeting rooms. The ballroom would be ideal for our companyโ€™s upcoming Christmas ball.

We then tucked into our lunch at The Boatman. Located directly on the River Thames overlooking Eton Bridge it is the perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon.

Our second site visit of the day took us to the Macdonald Windsor Hotel, which is situated just two minutes away from Windsor Castle. Inside the hotel offers 120 bedrooms featuring rich interior designs and calming shades. After our tour, afternoon tea was served where my guests and I sampled some mouth-watering scones and delicate cakes.

We then stopped by the boutique Castle Hotel by MGallery to check out its rich history and elegant interiors. By the 19th Century Castle Hotel was unrivalled as the finest place to stay in Windsor, where the Duke of Wellington stopped by to dine after his victory over Napoleon at the battle of Waterloo.

Finally, we checked in to Sir Christopher Wrenโ€™s Hotel and Spa that sits directly on the River Thames in Royal Windsor. Boasting contemporary apartments and spacious rooms, a restaurant, bar and terrace, we really were spoilt for choice here.

The four-star venue offered us some pre-dinner drinks on the night, before we tucked into our dinner at The Brasserie.

The whole weekend really was a delight, where we all got to experience the beautiful town of Windsor and what it can offer in terms of corporate events. Iโ€™m so grateful to The Agendo Organisation andย RBWM for arranging this exclusive trip, as well as all the hotels for their hospitality.

Make sure you check out what Windsor has to offer for your next corporate event.

A note from The Agendo Organisation

The Agendo Organisation was delighted to partner with PA Life and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to offer this FAM trip. We all worked closely together to ensure that participants would experience some of the best that the area has to offer and we were generously supported by our venue and supplier partners. As they say, โ€œseeing is believingโ€ and we believe that the participantsโ€™ personal experiences during the weekend provided them with the best way of understanding how the venues and supplier whose services they enjoyed might work perfectly for their events.
