Penelope Alice visits Tavern at 15 at the London Capital Club

Last time the PA Life Club visited the illustrious London Capital Club, the venue was still renovating its basement. Lucky for me I was part of the group that returned last week for a preview of its new restaurant, Tavern at 15.

Our hosts graciously provided us with scrumptious canapés from Head Chef Jean-Didier Gouges, along with a healthy dose of red and white wine. Jean has created new twists on bar favourites using innovative ingredients. We were able to sample miniature versions of the burgers, one of which included a touch of foie gras. We also had prawn and chorizo skewers, as well as cheese and mushroom bundles.

Later in the evening, we were treated to a tour of the London Capital Club’s six private dining rooms, which can host anything from seminars to banquets and cocktail parties. The venue is full to the brim with history, with the origins of the club dating back to 1843.
