The Meetings Show Tomorrow’s Talent Winner spotlight: Clementine Crowther, Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce

The Meetings Show recently announced the winners of its Tomorrow’s Talent competition, an initiative which aims to champion talented newcomers to the industry and provide a platform for nurturing, mentoring and supporting the industry leaders of the future.

Over the coming days, PA Life will throw the spotlight on each of the winners, continuing with Clementine Crowther…

Clementine Crowther, events coordinator at the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, came to the job with more than 700 hours of events-related volunteering experience, everywhere from community fundraising to large-scale festivals. Clementine’s current role involves planning and delivering regional business conferences, awards ceremonies and networking events.

What does it mean to be a Tomorrow’s Talent 2021 winner?

I feel absolutely honoured, shocked and SUPER proud! It’s incredible to be recognised by some top industry professionals. I still feel like I am dreaming. My social media has been going crazy! The only way is up from here!

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced this past year, with regards to your career?

Adapting to the new digital world through online systems and processes has been quite a challenge. I love meeting new people and networking, in person, so not being able to do those things was a challenge too. There is nothing better than a good chat and a cuppa with industry friends and suppliers, people I look up to.

What do you love most about working in the meetings and events industry?

I just love the buzz I get when I see everything coming together, nothing beats thinking ‘we created this’. I feel like I am part of something incredibly special, especially this year. I’m so lucky to have my industry peers to go to for advice, to celebrate wins with and to have their constant support.

The Meetings Show takes place on September 30th and October 1st at ExCeL London. To find out more and register to attend, click here.
