The Landmark London and Sipsmith Gin have partnered to create The Landmark Signature Cocktail – the Marylebone Mist.

British gin is back with a vengeance and I couldn’t be more thrilled, courtesy of Sipsmith at The Landmark London. Fashions come and fashions go, but the timeless classics will always endure. A revival of interest in the juniper-laden juice (the amount of gin distilleries have doubled since 2010-2015 to 233) means that modern-day Londoners have plenty of opportunities to try it, as the city’s inventive cocktail scene is playing its part in the spirit’s revival. Temporary gin palaces and master classes that examine all aspects of the drink have transported boutique gins to market and London is flying the flag.

Leading the way is one of Britain’s most iconic hotels – The Landmark London, which offers high-end hospitality and a level of luxury and indulgence that certainly leaves a lasting impression. No easy feat considering London is perhaps the most competitive hotel market in the world.

I was invited to an afternoon of masterful gin mixology and delicious food pairings at the hotel’s twoTwentytwo Restaurant & Bar, with London’s most fashionable gin – Sipsmith.

Celebrating the new partnership during a 90 minute masterclass led by a Rich Hamer, a Sipsmith representative, I was invited to swot up on my gin knowledge and learn about the UK’s fascinating history with the spirit and its links to the hotel.

I had the opportunity to taste a variety of gin flavours matched with delightful taster dishes from the hotel’s Head Chef, and was one of the lucky few to preview the new the Marylebone Mist signature cocktail created by Sipsmith, in celebration of The Landmark London’s Victorian heritage.

British gin is now the drink du jour. Be it for a post-work tipple, a cheeky lunchtime business meet or a fun team-building get-together, the intimate tastings are refreshingly suited to cooling you off in the warmer months, the Marylebone Mist is summer in a glass. Enjoy!
