About The Don Restaurant
The Don was the site in 1342 of the first Hall of the Worshipful Company of Drapers until 1798, when the Sandeman Port family moved in and used the premises as both their home and their cellars for almost 200 years. Barrels of Sherry and Port were shipped up the Thames to be disembarked close to where Cannon Street Station now stands, then rolled up a Roman cellar, which led into a medieval vault that ran under St Swithins Lane. The last remaining part of that medieval vault is now home to the Don and The Sign of The Don?s remarkable wine collection.

The Don is open for lunch and dinner from 12pm and The Sign of The Don is also open for breakfast from 7.30am. Both premises are available for private hire during weekends.
