Alchemy Virtual Assistance celebrates 5th birthday with new franchise manager

The founders of Alchemy Virtual Assistance (VA) – Suzy and Paul Sanders – are marking their 5th birthday as a business by welcoming their fifth Virtual Assistant franchise manager, and launching a new mini book to help ambitious small business owners – The Alchemy of… Getting organised and getting it done!

Since 2016, Suzy and Paul have grown the company – which provides remote admin, PA and marketing support to business owners and entrepreneurs all over the globe – from a one-person operation to a virtual assistant family of 15 people and growing

In the last 12 months, the Alchemy group have welcomed a record number of clients, been involved in numerous speaking events, interviewed and contributed to a number of high-profile publications, embarked on multiple charity giving initiatives, and have been recognised in several prestigious awards programmes.

Suzy said: “We are  immensely proud of how far we have come; especially as official statistics show that many start-up businesses don’t survive to celebrate the five-year mark. And that was before the pandemic. Whilst we’ve faced and overcome some incredibly demanding challenges, our collective success really lies in the courage, resilience, dedication and talent of the phenomenal people that make up the Alchemy VA family.”

Suzy, along with her husband and business partner Paul, celebrated high-profile recognition as finalists in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in the summer and are expecting their second baby in the winter.

Paul explained that Alchemy VA’s biggest expansion has been over the last year: “We’ve seen a major positive shifts in enquiries and growth recently with people seeking control of their futures via rewarding alternatives to the traditional 9-5. More and more savvy, ambitious small business owners are embracing the vast benefits of remote business support services too. With shifts back towards the office, furlough ending, redundancies and ever-changing economic challenges, what has been dubbed as ‘The Great Resignation’ has had a big impact to both verticals of our family business.

“Flexible and fulfilling franchise opportunities with a supportive and nurturing family run company like Alchemy VA are becoming increasingly attractive and attainable options. We are being inundated with interest from people who want to start their own Virtual Assistant business with the training, support and backing of an established and trusted brand like ours.”

“There are definitely more reasons than ever to invest in a franchise rather than take on all the risk and stress involved in going it alone.”

Official reports show that around half of all non-franchised start-ups fail within five years (ONS) compared to 5.5% of franchised businesses (Natwest & British Franchise Association research).
