App to save recruitment costs and create ‘happier workplaces’

Recruitment app Peek has launched with a focus on ‘digital personalisation’, streamlining and connectivity. The new service is hoping to reduce time spent ticking boxes and searching job boards by implicating algorithms to deliver only relevant job openings.

Believing the current system is too ‘commission hungry,’ the team behind Peek wants to value people and their talents more, leading to more satisfaction from both recruiters and prospective employees who don’t need to sift through irrelevant applicants and applications. Working on web and mobile devices, the service is prioritising personality, culture and values as well as skills and experience to ensure the right people see the right job opportunities, cutting recruitment costs and reducing wasted time.

When a candidate is the ‘wrong fit’ for their role or office, they can find it difficult to work with others around them, or may be intimidated by their responsibility. Peek believes a lack of synergy can reduce productivity and leave the employee doubting their own abilities.

“Employers and candidates get to peek into the real purpose and values each hold dear to find the perfect match,” explained Aws Ismail, co-founder of Peek. “Our sole purpose is to create happier, more productive workplaces and save businesses substantial recruitment costs in the process.”

46% of new hires leave their job within 18 months, with almost 90% admitting they leave due to a ‘bad cultural fit’ or personality clash, with Peek emphasising that the working environment is just as important to consider as previous experiences and qualifications. Incorporating ‘swipe screen’ functionality lets Peek learn from what kind of jobs should be avoided and which are preferred.

“Culture fit is the glue that holds an organisation together,” said the Society for Human Resource Management. “Before the hiring team starts measuring candidates’ culture fit, they need to be able to define and articulate the organisation’s culture – its values, goals, and practices — and then weave this understanding into the hiring process.”
