Last week Vue West End on Leicester Square hosted 250 event organisers and agents at theย launch of Vueโs immersive cinema experience, themed around the highly acclaimed Baz Luhrmann film โElvis.โ
On the red carpet, guests could indulge in a picture with the man himself Elvis, by a huge film poster. Dressed in a blue jumpsuit, studded with rhinestones, Matt King โ who has been an award-winning Elvis Tribute Act for 30 years โ glittered and posed for photos with partygoers.
Upstairs clients were treated to Elvis themed cocktails: Blue Suede Shoes, Kiss Me Quick and The King and canapรฉs including, Elvisโs favourite the cheese-burger, vegan burgers with pineapple salsa, Louisiana chicken with moonshine dip, Memphis salmon cakes with lemon & dill sauce, Jail House Roquefort Arancini, Toffee apple pie & cream, lemon cheesecake, all served by waiters and waitresses resplendent in Elvis wigs, Hawaiian leis and sunglasses.
Plus, there were Elvis themed props that people could use in pictures such as Elvisโs aviator shades, wigs, guitars, microphones, and film poster themed frames, which proved to be hugely popular.

Head of corporate sales and advertising for Vue Rachel Macaulay said โby elevating the cinema experience and making it immersive really adds to the whole sense of occasion. Itโs a great ice-breaker too and people can get involved as much or as little as they like.โ
Following Rachelโs speech, Matt sang โBurning Love,โ โIn the Ghettoโ and โWay Down,โ three of Elvisโ hits from the 70โs in front of the big screen before the film started.
Nikki Macgregor from Arup said โit was a truly brilliant night; everything was so well done, and it was really fun. The food was delicious, and Matt is a fabulous Elvis, it was a real treat, thank you!โ
Helen Mulreay from SIA Group said โwe did an immersive experience with Top Gun; we didnโt have a Maverick though! One for next time I think as it really does make for a great photo opportunity which people clearly love.โ
