Holographic event specialists Musion have joined up with Confex to add an extra dimension to the upcoming International Confex 2018. The technology will help bring speakers from across the world directly to the event using the same technology famously used to resurrect rapper Tupac Shakur in 2012 as well as British comedy great Les Dawson back in 2013.
International Confex, which runs 28 February to 1 March 2018, will also be highlighting the impact holograms can have on every type of event, including conferences, AGMs, training events, exhibitions, awards ceremonies, product launches, brand engagement, and experiential events.
Event professionals will likely be familiar with the entertainment angle of Musion’s technology, but may not have seen its new capability: telepresence. Telepresence is a technology in which a keynote speaker appears across multiple locations, where they are able to interact with the audience as though they are physically present.
The upcoming event is expected to welcome the highest corporate turnout ever, following a record growth in visitors that saw a spike in figures by more than 35% compared to 2016. With Corporate buyers making up a major share of the event floor, the number is expected to surge further in the next year. The upcoming show is now looking to position itself as the UK’s primary meeting point for buyers to meet event management agencies, venues, destinations and more.
This concept has the potential to make a significant contribution to reducing the environmental impact of the industry as well as mitigating delegates’ security concerns about global travel. It also makes it easier for events to include high profile speakers from around the world within their conference programme.
“Since we acquired International Confex in 2013, Mash Media has been committed to leading from the front on profiling the events industry of tomorrow,” said event director Liz Agostini. “Our collaboration with Musion undoubtedly reflects this, and means we can bring even more exciting speakers to the show. We’re encouraging our visitors to watch this space!”
