Event professionals rediscover Kew Palace at showcase event

Kew Palace Dining Room

Kew Palace, one of six venues cared for by independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, last night (12 April) welcomed destination management companies and corporate guests to rediscover its potential as an events venue.

Kew Palace is set to undergo a ‘reawakening’ this year, with a renewed focus on hosting intimate receptions and dinners. The showcase event was designed to allow guests to experience this small but perfectly formed royal palace and its charming Royal Kitchens as a unique option for intimate events.

As part of the showcase, guests enjoyed a drinks reception in the Royal Kitchen, which was decorated with beautiful spring-themed floral displays courtesy of Lavender Green Flowers. The florist also provided displays for the table in The Dining Room (pictured), as well as lanterns to mark the guest route and add to the ambience of the evening.

Ampersand Events was on hand with a selection of culinary delights for guests to enjoy. Canapés included curry macaroons, smoked salmon blinis with lemon crème fraiche, goats cheese brulée and beetroot sponge with hazelnut.

Guests were then able to take part in a tour of the palace during which they could discover more about the history of the venue, as well as seeing the event spaces on offer for corporate and private events.

HRP Event solutions provided all production on the night, including uplighting, a PA system and a screen to premiere the new Kew Palace events trailer.

Alex Donnelly-Palmer, Events and Operations Manager at Kew Palace and Kensington Palace says: “This year there will be a renewed focus on hosting intimate events at Kew Palace and this showcase provided the perfect opportunity for guests to rediscover this fantastic palace and its potential as an events venue. The hire fee for the venue now includes exclusive hire of both the palace and the Royal Kitchens, meaning guests can now experience both the atmospheric 18th-century Royal Kitchens and the elegance of the intimate family home of Georgian royalty.”
