Events R Talented reveal 2019 winner

The Events R Talented team have announced that their 2019 winner is 24 year old Megan Urwin (pictured, above).

Megan, who works as an event co-ordinator with Leeds based Successful Events, wowed the audience at this year’s EVCOM London Film and Live Industry Awards 2019 with her rendition of Pixie Lott’s ‘Mama Do’.

The judges, who were comedian Naomi Cooper, impressionist Darren Altman and music entrepreneur Dominic Lyon, loved all four finalists but commented that Megan’s note perfect performance was enhanced by a genuine and impressive presence on stage.

Megan stated: “I am absolutely delighted to have won this competition and thank everyone who have helped me get to this stage. Not only is great to have won, but also to be part of the great charity initiative that is Events R Talented and I look forward to working with them over the coming year.

Ken Findlay from Events R Talented said: “Massive congratulations to Megan from all four of us at ERT, she did a great performance and is a deserved winner. We too, look forward to working with her in the next year or so.”

In addition to their winner being announced, the ERT Team also raised funds for their 2019 charity which is Buses 4 Homeless. On the night they raised £1,665.00 bringing their total so far this year to over £7,000.00

Findlay added: “We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us over the past year or so and a big thank you to Leigh Jagger, Liz Harper and the EVCOM team for hosting our finals tonight and to the EVCOM guest audience who not only dug deep on the night, they also helped us smash last years total of £6000.00 and we’ve not even finished our fund-raising yet. We couldn’t do this without all the support of friends and colleagues in our fabulous events industry.”

Jason Wilcock (Chair of Industry Charity Meeting Needs, said: “What another great night of fund-raising from the ERT Team, thank you to them, thank you to EVCOM and congratulations to Megan.”
