Eyes down! Penelope Alice visits Mecca Bingo

Iโ€™ve got to be honest, I haven’t played a game of bingo before so I was unsure of what to expect during the latest PA Life Club event at Mecca Bingo in Wood Green.

A group of PAs and I were invited to take part in the thrilling game, where we were all given the chance to win up to ยฃ50,000! Sadly, none of us scooped the jackpot, but it was great fun to take part and tick off all of the called numbers on our bingo papers together.

What surprised me was the size of the venue โ€“ inside there is the huge bingo hall, while next to it are two separate spaces available to fit around 100 guests between them.

On the night, Mecca showcased its venue as a Christmas party alternative, where attendees took part in a range of bingo games, while enjoying some party platters and Christmas themed drinks. We got the chance to sample both, where the Christmas Kiss cocktail went down a treat, closely followed by the Crimbo Colada.

After enjoying the speciality drinks, we got the chance to take part in several other games โ€“ the atmosphere was electric. It was fascinating to see the concentration on everyoneโ€™s faces as they aimed to get one line, two lines or even a full house. But, this game really is ideal for avid players and bingo novices as some of us had never played before, (myself included), while others were regulars at their local bingo halls.

On the night, a DJ was also on hand to entertain with some disco classics, as well as some iconic Christmas songs, providing us with a real snapshot of what a Christmas party could be like here.

After the excitement of the evening, we were also treated to a Mecca-branded goodie bag upon departure, which featured a snowman soft toy and an all-important stress ball.

With its ample space, entertainment and last-minute availability, Mecca Bingo certainly is one to consider for this yearโ€™s Christmas party.
