Fast track to the top with essential training for PAs

Why is continuing professional development so important for PAs? When PA Life Editor Colette Doyle recently posed this question to a group of management assistants, she received a whole raft of interesting answers.

Training is a great way to refresh your existing skills so you donโ€™t get too set in your ways, was one of the responses. Plus, as another interviewee pointed out, the role is developing at such a quick pace there is an urgent need to keep up with the constantly changing environment by gaining expertise in new areas. The comments came from delegates attending the PA Life Training Day at the ILEC Conference Centre in Earls Court last November โ€“ scroll down to watch the video and hear their feedback in full.

This yearโ€™s training day will take place on Monday, 15 June, again at the ILEC Centre, and will include 12 compelling sessions ranging from practical skills such as Meetings, Note-Taking & Minutes, through to technical expertise with Making Microsoft Office Work for You, and soft skills such as networking, which is covered in the session entitled, Building Your Little Black Book.

Presenters include such well-known personalities as Heather Baker of Baker Thompson Associates, Angela Garry, author and founder of training company Pica Aurum and celebrity PA Donna Coulling.

Delegates can choose to come for the full day for ยฃ249, or for just a half day at ยฃ125. The full-day option includes a networking lunch where attendees can get the chance to mingle and chat with administrative professionals from a whole range of different backgrounds. There are discounted rates available for those who have previously attended a PA Life training day and also for those who are members of the PA Life Club.
