Finally My Ambulance

Finally My Ambulance โ€“ Joseph Smith

(Jonathan Cape, ยฃ14.99)

This book invites you to embark on a journey via 13 short stories connected by theme and tone. Iโ€™m not sure exactly what journey the book took me on as I found the writing didnโ€™t flow from story to story.

Finally My Ambulance was the longest, written in an easier style to read than some of the others, which I could have happily skipped through.

The subjects are thought-provoking, covering matters such as war, slavery and death, but because the stories are short itโ€™s difficult to build an interest in the characters. Itโ€™s hard to pick up rather than hard to put down, but I did like the cover illustration.
