Johnny Depp’s assistant pulled into Amber Heard abuse rumours

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard

It was announced recently that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are getting divorced after just 15 months of marriage. Since then, the media has been a flurry of news surrounding the couple’s relationship, including alleged abuse against the actress. Now Depp’s assistant has been implicated in the latest rumours, with text messages between him and Heard dating back two years.

The US’s Entertainment Tonight obtained transcripts of messages sent between Depp’s Assistant Stephen Deuters and Heard in which Deuters apologises on the behalf of an unnamed man while the other party – allegedly Heard – responds with details of specific incidents of abuse.

In the messages, Deuters refers to the man as “A little lost boy” and says “He is so very sorry, as he should be”. The response reads: “He’s done this many times before… and I always stay.”

Deuters has since released a statement claiming he didn’t send the messages and has no knowledge of any acts of violence toward Amber Heard by Johnny Depp. However, a signed legal document has been leaked in which a computer forensics expert reports he has authenticated the text messages, saying the messages have not been doctored in any way.

Heard appeared at the Superior Court of California of Los Angeles on 27 May, where she filed for a restraining order against Johnny Depp. At the time she appeared to have a bruise on her face from an incident in which Depp allegedly threw a phone at her following an argument that was broken up by a neighbour. She filed for divorce shortly after the incident.

A judge ruled in Heard’s favour and Depp must remain at least 100 yards away from Heard until their next hearing later this month.
