LGBT group Stonewall launches inclusive jobs site

Stonewall launches Proud Employers for LGBT candidates

Stonewall, the lesbian, gay, bi and trans (LGBT) equality charity, has launched its new and improved inclusive jobs hub, Proud Employers.

Created to enable LGBT jobseekers to find employment with organisations they know respect and embrace their identity, Proud Employers will list jobs at any level across all sectors.

The new, fully responsive jobs board system has been treated with a modern design and layout. It also includes a Cloud CV application system, search engine optimisation functionality and new client and candidate administration areas. Proud Employers directly integrates with the Government’s Universal JobsMatch system, which all jobseekers must be registered with. This will ensure that vacancies are being seen by as many candidates as possible.

Candidates can sign up for updates on jobs that meet their skills and interests, while employers can use the site’s performance statistics system to manage click-through and application rates.

As well as acting as a fantastic resource for LGBT jobseekers, Proud Employers acts as a fundraising tool for LGBT equality charity Stonewall, with all profits feeding back into the organisation to support its charitable objectives.

Richard Mullen, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Stonewall said: “All of the leading employers understand the business benefits that come with a diverse workforce. Firms who improve the diversity within teams don’t just see a boost in productivity and breadth of ideas, but are also able to better represent all of the communities and customers that they serve.

“LGBT staff are a huge part of this, however potential applicants are often anxious about approaching employers in case there is an issue with anti-LGBT ‘banter’ or discrimination in the office. Proud Employers enables inclusive employers who want the best, diverse talent to reach jobseekers who see equality and inclusion as paramount.”

Virgin Money, GCHQ and Slaughter and May are just some of the businesses already making use of the site and reaping its benefits.

Nicola Lintott, St Andrew’s Healthcare Equality, Diversity and Human Rights lead said: “We can only care for and meet the diverse needs of our patients if we have a diverse workforce that are valued and respected. Proud Employers supports us to find the best of the LGBT community to help transform patients’ lives by delivering world-class care.”

Laura Espin, Recruitment Partner at Macmillan Cancer Support said: “Advertising on Proud Employers ensures our vacancies are visible to the best talent from across the UK regardless of sexual orientation or gender.”
