PA Life readers reveal the most trustworthy social networks

Our readers have responded to the latest Twitter poll, revealing which social media networks they put their trust in, and which are considered less trustworthy.

Asking our readers which websites they thought were most trustworthy, LinkedIn ranked top with 39% admitting they found it the most trustworthy. Despite asking users through Twitter, only 11% considered the social network more trustworthy than the rest, and not a single respondent voted for Facebook.

Above all else, PA Life readers admitted that they donโ€™t actually trust any social media site, with 50% admitting they donโ€™t think any of them should hold the title of โ€˜most trustworthyโ€™. This comes following the release of Edelmanโ€™s annual Trust Barometer, which revealed that following a year of social hoaxes and the wave of โ€˜fake newsโ€™, social sites are being urged to clamp down on regulation to deter disinformation and harassment.

โ€œThe public want action on key issues related to online protection, and to see their concerns addressed through better regulation,โ€ explained Ed Williams, Edelman CEO. โ€œFailure on their part to act risks further erosion of trust and therefore public support.โ€
