PAs learn new skills at the Møller Centre

Taking time out of the office to learn and develop your skills is an important part of any PA’s life. More than 50 assistants recently took the opportunity to travel to Cambridge for the Møller Centre’s training event entitled “The confident, assertive and efficient PA”.

PAs from the southeast were treated to talks lead by keynote speaker Leeanne Graham, PA to the CEO at ACEVO and Hays’ PA of the Year 2013. Leanne gave her tips on what makes a great personal assistant and discussed what she has experienced throughout her career, encouraging the audience to set personal goals in order to achieve success.

Topics covered in training sessions included efficient minute-taking, Microsoft Office shortcuts and personal development. At the end of the day each delegate received a goody bag to take home with them complete with a copy of PA Life.

Leanne commented on the success of the event, saying: “The PA training day at the Møller Centre is perfect for those assistants wanting to find out where their development path should focus. It was an extremely well-run day with exciting and interesting sessions.”

Bonnie Taylor, New Business Manager for the venue, comments: “This is the first event we’ve held solely for PAs, but it won’t be the last. It was the ideal occasion to ensure they have the opportunity to train and network with like-minded people and to obtain new knowledge and insight.”

The Møller Centre is the only dedicated residential management training and conference centre in Cambridge. Located at Churchill College at the University of Cambridge, the venue has three core areas of its business: conferencing, education for senior executives and a stake in the Møller PSF Group, which brings together professional service experts and focuses on leadership, strategy, business development and management issues.
