Pitman Training supports women across the nation

Laura Warren, fitmuma UK

As part of Pitman Training’s yearlong commitment to Pushing for Progress, following the launch of their free training and coaching platform for women on International Women’s Day, this month sees the addition of some great content aimed at supporting working women with their productivity.

Many women from across the UK have already signed up to access this free coaching including employees from many of Pitman’s partner companies and clients including McVities (Pladis Group), The Society of Heads, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, law firm Bruntwood and over 100 Pitman franchises across the UK, Republic of Ireland and international territories.

Featuring Laura Warren, international athlete, founder of fitmuma UK and winner of Pitman Training’s SuperAchievers ‘Working Mum of the Year’, alongside Lindsay Taylor – director of Your Excellency Limited and specialist administrative professional coach; Andy Hogg, Microsoft programme trainer and IT specialist and Heather Baker, author of a number of Pitman Training courses and a specialist in skills and personal development for PAs and administrators, Pitman Training is hoping to inspire and motivate women in the workplace with this new content.

An international athlete, playing lacrosse at international level for GB and Wales, Laura started her career as a PE teacher but has since gone onto become a gym owner and fitmuma UK founder.

Laura has provided a FREE video full of tips and advice to help working women find ways to fit exercise into their day, be it before, after or even during work, with some practical examples that can be done in 2 minute stints, at home or in the office, to help women find the time and motivation for physical well-being. This is part of her mission to help women feel more happy, energetic, and productive as a result of exercise and her video explores the benefits that exercise can have on your mind and therefore your productivity, discussing how it can help us be more creative, feel more confident, raise our mood and improve our memory and attention span.

Laura said; “I’ve used exercises for years and years to combat life issues that are thrown at me. It has helped me refocus in my busy life and it has been used to help my mood. I have seen the huge benefits exercise has not only had on me but many others and I am keen to spend this message.”

Alongside Laura’s video, are some great practical blogs;

Pitman Training Group Managing Director, Claire Lister said: “This is something totally different for us and I’m so excited that we are adding more fabulous content to our Pitman ‘Push for Progress’ career coaching campaign, this month focused on increasing productivity at work. Women have an innate tendency to multi-task. It’s something we are naturally good at, and we also have very active minds. We are always looking for the next thing to be done, to achieve, to challenge us, and I think this is fantastic – but sometimes we also need to reign this in and learn how to make better use of our time. I love seeing women trying new things and always looking forward – and this is how we press for progress. I hope our free coaching content can play a part in this.” Pitman Training has led the way for growth in development and efficiency within the workplace for over 180 years – arming students with the skills they need to get the jobs that they want. • The Art of Communication – We all communicate naturally; most of us find it impossible NOT to communicate… but we don’t always communicate effectively. Heather Baker explores ways in which we can communicate effectively; from our body language and tone of voice to the words we use.
  • A is for Assertiveness – Assertive words, tone, body language and aura tips… Lindsay Taylor talks about the ‘A’ pearl: Say what you mean and mean what you say. This blog is based on the first chapter of her award-winning book the ‘A-Z Pearls of Wisdom for Executive PA’s’.
  • Efficient Mail, Effective Mail or Elephant Mail – The use of email is now the major communication tool in the business world, you can easily whizz a communication anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds. Andy Hogg asked if we are using email efficiently and effectively, or has it become a business hindrance, the metaphorical ‘elephant’ which has taken over our desk space/office but more importantly our brain space… is just getting in the way?
