Research reveals the need for rewards

New research reveals that UK employees would give up a higher salary if it meant they could work for a firm that regularly thanks its staff for their efforts. Meanwhile, 71 per cent of those surveyed would prefer to work for a company that offers an effective rewards package rather than take a job with a bigger paycheck.

The research, conducted by One4all Rewards, highlights that 68 per cent of employees believe being regularly thanked for their efforts would earn their dedication and 34 per cent claim they would not leave a position if they were provided with regular praise.

In addition, a workplace that fails to offer rewards to its staff is less likely to attract new employees, as 17 per cent state they would turn down a job offer if no incentive scheme is in place.

Commenting on the research, One4all Rewardsโ€™ Managing Director Declan Byrne says: โ€œThis shows the great investment that incentives can be for companies. Itโ€™s important that all employees are rewarded in some form, as it is an informal way of boosting morale and increasing a companyโ€™s employer brand.โ€
