Restaurants and bars team up to celebrate International Women’s Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day today, The House of Song will be supporting women in the music industry at The Piano Works in Farringdon and Studio 88, next to Leicester Square.

From feminist punk to 90s girl power, the House of Song musicians will be taking track requests all night to help celebrate the key women in the industry.

In addition, the company has developed a limited-edition cocktail dubbed The Ultra Violet to pay homage to the suffragette movement.

Available all night, each drink is just £5 with £1 from every cocktail being donated to the Music Venue Trust and their ‘fight back’ campaign to support women in the music industry.

Elsewhere, burger restaurant Haché will be hosting an ‘extravaganza of women in food’.

Guests are invited to join them from 7pm to listen to a panel of some of the hottest women in food and drink, followed by dinner and a cocktail.

Mazí Mas founder Niki Kopcke, Oklava’s Selin Kiazim, BBC Good Food’s Lulu Grimes, and award-winning sommelier and wine expert Ruth Spivey will be discussing the biggest challenges facing women in and around food today, from the “female chef” debate to clean eating.

Tickets are available now.
