Science Museum has just the Tonic for event organisers

Mathematics: The Winton Gallery at The Science Museum

The Science Museum in South Kensington has partnered with London-based event caterer Tonic and live event AV company Matrix UK Solutions to host an evening spectacle featuring exciting new event spaces, food, styling, production and entertainment.

Guests invited to this exclusive event on Thursday, 19 January will be the first to experience three stunning new spaces in one night – Wonderlab: The Statoil Gallery, Media Gallery and Mathematics: The Winton Gallery.

The evening will begin in the Media Gallery, where guests will be able to discover the very latest event production technologies courtesy of Matrix UK Solutions before moving through to Mathematics: The Winton Gallery. The gallery has been designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and is the first of the firm’s projects to open in the UK since Dame Zaha Hadid’s sudden death in March 2016.

The event journey will end in Wonderlab, the museum’s newest and most spectacular interactive gallery, where the main party will take place. Once in Wonderlab, guests will be able to explore ‘The Theory of Food’ – a highly innovative menu provided by Tonic (formerly Harbour & Jones Events) that’s guaranteed to intrigue and inspire. Interactive food stalls and science-based concepts have been designed to create plenty of drama and surprises during the event.

Lucy Mears, Group Sales Manager at the Science Museum says: “It has been a fantastic year for us at the Science Museum with the launch of a number of new and innovative event spaces. This event provides the perfect opportunity for guests to experience our new spaces while enjoying cutting-edge food and service concepts, and the latest in event production technology.

“These new spaces have added an extra dimension to our offering at the Science Museum and have reinforced our position as the leading venue for creative and innovative events.”

Alastair Moir, Director of Tonic adds: “This is an exciting time for Tonic, having just rebranded as a world-class experiential catering company. This event provides the ideal environment to showcase our new brand and our highly imaginative approach to food. We plan to bring food-based magic, drama and verve to this event, with plenty of surprises in store on the night. We are sure our ‘Theory of Food’ will go down well among the guests exploring Wonderlab as an events space.”

Jamie Gaskins, Technical Director at Matrix says: “We’ve been at the forefront of delivering AV solutions on a range of live events including conference, exhibitions, concerts, festivals and specialist outdoor projects. This is an opportunity we are really excited about – it’s a way of showing our capabilities, our equipment and the creative AV team in one night and there will be some awe-inspiring new technology for guests to view and get involved with.”
