The eastside rooms to launch in Birmingham

A new, state of the art conference and events venue is set to launch in Birmingham in spring 2020.

The new centre, which will feature an on-site hotel, is being built as part of the โ€˜Eastsideโ€™ development of the city, alongside HS2, and will form part of the โ€˜knowledge quarterโ€™ being created around the historic area.

With its location just 10 minutesโ€™ walk from Birmingham City Centre, adjacent to HS2, and on the side of the cityโ€™s beautiful canal network, the venueโ€™s owners are calling it โ€˜the most connected conference centre in the UKโ€™.

At its heart will also be the cityโ€™s largest pillar free banqueting space, capable of seating 1,200 delegates, surrounded by over 800 sqm of plenary, breakout, meetings, and events space.

โ€œThe eastside rooms is a really exciting new development for the industry and is arriving at just the right time, in a dynamic city with a heritage of fantastic venues and interesting meeting spaces,โ€ said Matt Huddart, Regional General Manager, the eastside rooms. โ€œThis part of Birmingham has an amazing heritage that will be woven into the design of the hotel, but it also has a great future, and will becoming the cityโ€™s knowledge and information district, with businesses and innovation centres being built around it.

โ€œWeโ€™ve worked really closely with event organisers from the very outset of this project to make sure weโ€™re creating the right spaces with the right infrastructure for a modern event. Over the next few months weโ€™ll be inviting more #eventproffs into the space so we can continue to listen to what they are after and give them the space they need.โ€

The eastside rooms will open in spring 2020, however the space itself will be presented to meetings and events planners in the autumn this year.
