The InterContinental London – The O2 opens destination spa with bespoke treatments

InterContinental London – The O2 spa pool

The newly launched InterContinental London – The O2 hotel on the vibrant Greenwich Peninsula has opened its destination spa to guests and visitors with bespoke treatments and leisure facilities.

Located at the heart of the hotel, The Spa features a 17m indoor swimming pool and a relaxation pool fitted with cannon neck massage jets, as well as a sauna and steam room with an invigorating ice fountain. Boasting eight luxury treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge serving herbal teas, fruit infused mineral water and a healthy food menu, the spa offers a range of bespoke signature treatments with leading products from ESPA.

Set over 1,000 square metres, The Spa is an oasis of pure tranquillity and bliss, designed to heighten all six senses. From the moment guests enter The Spa, each sense is evoked though sound, sight, touch, smell and taste and the most important sense of all while visiting The Spa, a feeling of inner wellbeing.

With a luxurious, bespoke treatment menu created by the Spa Manager and the hotel’s partner brand ESPA, treatments cater for the most discerning guests. From specialist facials, to diverse and indulgent massages; every treatment offered has been devised to provide fantastic and visible results, as well as leaving guests completely relaxed and rejuvenated.

Stuart Brand, Spa Manager at The InterContinental London – The O2 comments: “I am delighted to announce that The Spa at the InterContinental London – The O2 is now fully open to visitors and guests. With a fantastic choice of treatments and ESPA products available, alongside a delicious food menu devised specifically with our guests in mind, The Spa provides an element of escapism from busy London life. Guests can slip away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel into the calm oasis of The Spa, returning refreshed and revitalised.’’

Choice and variety is at the heart of the treatment menu, with everything from traditional Swedish Massage, aromatherapy, deep-tissue and hot stone massages to ESPA’s renowned hero treatments, such as the ESPA’s Back, Face & Scalp Treatment. Each treatment can be tailored accordingly to ensure guests experience the best physical and emotional therapeutic benefits depending on their needs. Prices start from £52 for a 30-minute Salt and Oil Scrub to a 90-minute ESPA Back, Face & Scalp Treatment at £135.

Taking inspiration from the hotel’s location within the historic Royal Borough of Greenwich and influences of the East India Trading Company that famously traded in the waters just metres from The Spa, the décor features exotic textures and luxurious materials such as gold gilt and blue pearl granite. Bespoke printed mosaic tiles, sumptuous rugs and delicate die-cut pendant lighting complement the heavy timbers of The Spa that were inspired by Greenwich’s historic naval ships and merchant dock yards.

The Spa is open from 6.30am-10pm Monday-Friday and 7.30am-10pm Saturday-Sunday, with spa treatments available from 9am-8pm seven days a week. For more information or to make a booking, call 0208 463 6868.
