Wasing Park’s Boutique Hotel now open for weekend breaks

One of the UK’s top venues is, for the first time, welcoming guests for weekend staycations on the beautiful 4,000-acre estate in Berkshire.

From this month (October), visitors to Wasing Park are invited to get out into the fresh air to enjoy walking trails through the woods and around the lakes before relaxing by the fireside in the Stables Bar ahead of enjoying a delicious a la carte dinner.

Stay for the weekend in one of Wasing’s 26 rooms, including the stunning grade II listed Old Estate Rooms – The Granary sat atop staddle stones, The Smithy, a former blacksmith’s shop now a large beautiful boutique bedroom, or The Dovecote, a very unique, cylindrical two-story building featuring a free-standing copper bath.

Owner of the Wasing Estate, Joshua Dugdale, said: “Until now, our corporate clients have only been able to stay with us on business rather than pleasure, so we are delighted to offer weekend breaks at Wasing for the first time. Over the years, many visitors have asked us about returning for a staycation but this hasn’t been possible until now.”

As well as endless wonderous walks across the estate, wellness is high on the agenda at Wasing and the estate is the perfect location to really unwind both your mind and body. There is a yoga studio onsite and the estate’s own wellness coach also offers Forest Bathing and other mindful activities.

Wasing’s brigade of chefs are highly trained and experienced in creating delicious fine food – look out for the ‘estate to plate’ specials available alongside the al a carte menu. Guests also have the choice of a Tasting Menu (served alongside optional pairing wines) on the Saturday at 7.30pm. And if you have room between the hearty breakfast and dinner, why not try your hand at cooking your own woodfired pizza or firepit-flamed venison burger under the guidance of Executive Chef, Stuart Tyler, at Wasing’s unique Woodlands venue at lunchtime. There might even be a little foraging too. Plus, complimentary tea and homemade cake will be served at 4pm.

Less than an hour from London, Winchester and Oxford, the Wasing Park Boutique Hotel is the perfect countryside retreat.

Other attractions of the local area include: Highclere Castle (the stunning location for the hit TV series Downton Abbey), Basildon Park and Wayfarer’s Walk. For the little ones, why not visit Bucklebury Farm Park or Wellington Country Park.

Guests are invited to bring their own bikes to enjoy the many tracks, trails, country lanes and the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal on two wheels. Route maps can be provided.

Anglers can bring their equipment and enjoy fishing on one of Wasing’s stunning woodland lakes. The adventurous can have a go at canoeing on the beautiful nearby River Thames. www.thamescanoehire.com.

Prices start at £195 per room, per night, bed and breakfast and breaks are mostly offered on a minimum two-night basis. For further information and to book email bookings@wasing.co.uk.
