Westminster Venue Collection ‘wows’ guests at annual showcase

The Westminster Venue Collection inspired event buyers during its evening showcase this week, where the consortium showcased its variety of spaces.

Dubbed ‘WowMinster’ the event took place at Bafta 195 Piccadilly, and provided event planners with the opportunity to get face-to-face with 36 of London’s venues, including Carlton House Terrace, Prince Philip House, King’s College London, Churchill War Rooms and many more.

Held inside the David Lean Room, which was transformed by equipment from Thorns Furniture & Catering Hire, guests were treated to delicious canapés courtesy of Bafta, such as a seeded cracker with carrot hummus and beetroot gel and mini shepherd’s pie tartlets, as well as chocolate fudge brownies with popping candy.

Viva Live Music’s saxophonist provided the evening’s entertainment, while guests also donned Halloween-inspired face paint by the London Facepainters.

During her welcoming speech, Rachel Azzopardi, chair of the Westminster Venue Collection, said: “Our annual showcase gives time-poor event organisers an opportunity to meet face-to-face with our incredible range of venues.

“The unique and eclectic mix of the collection means our showcase provides a real insight into the breadth of our offer. From fashionable townhouses and unique private members’ clubs to luxury hotels, celebrated attractions, historic institutes and societies Westminster Venue Collection has it all.”

A variety of prizes were all up for grabs for guests, including afternoon teas, three-course meals and tickets to the Ice Bar and the Alexandra Palace fireworks.

Ilenia Simonelli, operations and product executive of Sovereign Tourism, added: “The event was fabulous. It was very enjoyable, well organised and informative – the food and drinks were also delicious. It was great to learn and discover the different venues in the Westminster area and we very much hope we can use some of them for our groups.”
