National Express Transport Solutions, the private coach hire arm of National Express, recently announced a new partnership with Liftango to launch a brand new product called Trio. This innovative passenger transport technology is set to revolutionise the future of shared mobility solutions for businesses and local authorities across the UK.
An exclusive launch for Trio by National Express Transport Solutions
Trio made its debut at Business Travel Show Europe on 28th and 29th June and was the ideal opportunity for the teams to present the new product live and in person. They were thrilled to be joined by many keen to understand more about the 3 stages of Trio and how it can support businesses with their sustainability goals.
What is Trio?
Trio combines the scale and transport management expertise of National Express Transport Solutions with Liftango’s data-driven technology platform including; demand-responsive transport (DRT) technology, passenger application and management information.
This new product uses advanced modelling techniques to analyse travel patterns and transport inequity to create a tailored solution that has sustainability at the heart of its offering.
Reflecting the brand’s ethos, Trio comprises three stages of bespoke end-to-end product solutions to include sustainable fleet operations, dynamic scheduling optimisation and real-time ticketing and booking technology, complemented by a dedicated account servicing team. This bespoke solution is designed to fit around the goals and requirements of any business or local authority.

This includes:
● Thames Valley Park staff shuttle service:
This service has been operated by Stewarts Coaches, part of National Express Transport Solutions for the past 10 years, providing staff shuttles from Reading Rail Station to Thames Valley Park. Trio has revolutionised the way the shuttle operates and provides a data-first approach for the business park, by reviewing the local area of Reading and utilising data to grasp an understanding of the travel locations and habits of staff based at the park.
● Fox Connect DRT service:
Operating in Leicester, Fox Connect offers an opportunity for people in the rural villages of Leicester to be able to travel to key areas. This service has been joined together using the Trio product, by providing an ‘on-demand’ service, with booking via a smartphone app. The vehicles are operated by Woods Coaches, part of National Express Transport Solutions. Fox Connect also benefits from a driver app, back office platform and an analytics suite, to help to improve and deliver a sustainable service.
