January Blues…

Often after the excitement of Christmas and celebrating the start of the New Year, the January Blues kick in. This year, with the national lockdown and the new pressures this brings, it has been even tougher. So, looking after your mental health has never been more important.

Blue Monday, thought to be the most depressing day of the year, took place this week and we shared Executive Director Chris Mullenโ€™s advice for employers. With the ongoing pandemic and feelings of increased isolation, Chris says that communication and trust should be at the top of the agenda.

Speaking of communication, this week we shared an interview with EA Romy Ashmore who won Multi-Tasker of the Year at the PA Life Star Awards 2020. Along with COVID changing her role, Romy impressed the judges with her initiative to use her recent Mental Health Training to help keep staff communicating during lockdown.

Romy has written an article about mental health in the workplace and this will be published on the PA Life website along with awareness days to help you promote mental health in the workplace, wellbeing tips from industry experts and how the role of an EA has changed due to the pandemic.

Personally, inspired by the advice from experts, I have started to add yoga into my daily routine. I would love to hear how you have adapted during lockdown. Please feel free to get in touch and share your top tips for keeping your mind healthy.
