MEETINGS & EVENTS REBOOT: Make Venues books more than £1m of meetings

Make Venues has seen more than £1m of confirmed meetings business across its three sites, since the unveiling of the UK roadmap in March.

The brand is also predicting a further surge between ‘Freedom Day’ on July 19th and the end of the year as well as the return to pre-pandemic levels in its training business.

Make Venues, which is made up of Broadway House in London, Engineers’ House in Bristol and Woodland Grange in Leamington Spa, has spent much of the past year investing in both its people and its product, ensuring a continuing dialogue with customers despite the challenging circumstances. The group believes that it is this investment that have contributed to the £1m figure, which includes bookings across training, meetings, conferences and hybrid events.

“During the past 12 months we’ve focused on maintaining an open dialogue with our customers to ensure we could continue to meet their needs during the pandemic and beyond,” commented David Vaughton, Managing Director, Make Venues. “We’ve adapted our business to create Covid-safe environments and offered clients alternative hybrid technology to reach their audiences. For us, it has meant that we’ve been able to hit the ground running as soon as the market opened up and has led to a really strong start for us, post-pandemic.”

One of the key sectors for Make Venues is training and development and Vaughton expects the venues’ training bookings to reach pre-pandemic levels by September. He added: “The demand for training has been particularly pleasing, and to be looking at 2019 levels in the Autumn is really pleasing. We are extremely fortunate to have been able to work with many of our clients consistently throughout the past year and, now that the industry is able to work at capacity once again, we are able to continue that momentum and hit the ground running.”
