8 Northumberland Avenue launches 2017 Christmas themes with a 3D VR experience

8 Northumberland Avenue used a creative initiative last year to launch its Christmas party themes a year in advance, which has resulted in almost a 20% increase in confirmed business for Christmas parties this December.

Despite the economic uncertainty, that initiative seems set to continue to reap benefits for the venue, as 53% of clients surveyed say they are still planning their Christmas parties 12+ months ahead to ensure they can book the best possible dates.

On Monday 5 December, 60 key clients attended an exclusive one-off experience to view the venue’s 2016 Christmas themes. 8 Northumberland Avenue then launched its new innovative tech solution to help provide a sneak peak of the venue’s 2017 Christmas themes.

Charles Boyd, Owner of 8 Northumberland Avenue explains: “We are committed to operating at the forefront of technological event innovations. This year we are using 3D Virtual Reality to immerse our clients into our 2017 Christmas themes. Two years ago we used elaborate mood boards to do that, and a video last year; now we’re pushing the boundaries of immersive 3D Virtual Reality.”

100% of clients surveyed at the launch event said that the 3D VR Christmas themes experience was more helpful in visualising the 2017 themes than conventional methods, such as mood boards.

The two themes clients will be able to choose from for their 2017 Christmas parties for 100 to 1000 guests are ‘The Lost Palace of Atlantis’ and ‘Winter Glitz and Glamour’.

The Lost Palace of Atlantis will offer clients an escape from the hustle and bustle of the capital city to a hidden palace, known only to those invited to see. The keepers of the palace have dusted off the starfish and pushed the pearls to the side to create the perfect space for wonderful Christmas parties.

Alternatively, clients will be able to celebrate in true style with a Winter Glitz and Glamour party. This will be a night of true elegance with a snow palace feel, ready to welcome clients for receptions of bubbles and grand feasts, along with a party to last until carriages arrive.
